We are going to be cancelling the Minecraft Con 2011 event we were planning at this time. We can't get to specific, but in the process of gearing up and talking with quite a few people, we found out some news that there is another con being planned, and instead of competing with another con, we would rather support them.
So... Once we know more, and it's official and such, we will be announcing more here to let you know where it is.
Our goal is to grow the Minecraft community, and we think it's more important to be unified than to divide the chance to make an incredible event.
We're sorry that we are not going to be the ones to bring you the con, because we feel we had some great ideas, but we'll be giving these ideas freely to the other con and hopefully they will use them and regardless it should be a great event, and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible there!
... Will you be directing us to this other con?

DANGIT! i guess ill have to wait another year for minecraft con 2012 ( In the case that the world wont end wich it wont because the mayans predicted a space beam would kill us in 2012 and they are the ones who made us beleive 2012 so its not going to happen)

ReplyDeleteYou don't have to exactly cancel your plans. You could have just contacted us about what you guys were planning and to see if we could possibly plan around the relative same time as you guys. We are doing our con in the pacific Northwest and plan on doing a relatively cheaper alternative. Last year Notch came and that's what our convention revolved around. This year we are trying to do something relatively different since Notch is "Finishing" his game this year and won't have the time to come to the convention.
